THE HISTORY OF WITNESS WOMEN'S MINISTRY
WITNESS WOMEN'S MINISTRY WAS BIRTHED OUT OF THE SPIRIT OF PROPHETESS DR. MARIETTA DUNCAN AFTER MUCH PRAYER AND CONCERN FOR HURTING WOMEN IN THE VICKSBURG WARREN-COUNTY AREA. IN FEBRUARY OF 1999, She STARTED WITH A SMALL GROUP OF WOMEN IN THE CHURCH meeting at different locations for breakfast, lunch and at the church location. Prophetess DUNCAN began to LAY THE FOUNDATION FOR DEVELOPING WOMEN INTO THE WOMEN OF GOD THEY WERE CALLED TO BE! This focus led to powerful teachings that began to reach hurting women throughout the state!
Our church ministry moved into a larger facility and in 2002 Prophetess Duncan was given the name W.I.T.N.E.S.S. Women Imparting Truth Necessary To Empower Save and Serve. On that foundation , the women's ministry began to impact local communities by showing how godly women work for God as part of the church VISION, PURPOSE, AND PLAN! The Church had its first large ministry outreach entitled: Laboring in the Vineyard where the goal was to fulfill Mathew 25: 31-41. Hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, prison. Our mission was to find Jesus in the six worst areas of human suffering. Our efforts were successful through the hard work of the Ministry and we were able to serve over a thousand families in July 2005(see video under home tab). Then in August 2005 Hurricane Katrina Hit and all the training and word had to go into action as thousands of fearful and hurting women filled the Vicksburg, MS area. The women's ministry was able to facilitate the opening of childcare for disaster center children, group ministry bible studies and counseling session, employment services and home relocation services. So many were blessed, encouraged, and came to Christ though the efforts of these prepared women. After Katrina the WITNESS women's ministry continued to work and in 2008 the first of several Vicksburg floods happened, then in 2010 and 2011 the devastating tornadoes hit Mississippi. Our Church ministry got so proficient at handling disasters led by WITNESS that we opened up , our own full fledged disaster center Ministry called The Living Word Disaster Recovery and Development Center Agency. We developed partners that sent us so much that we had to lease warehouse space to store it all. We were recognized by MEMA for our work and by FEMA (see Aid Tab). All because This Prophet of God saw in a vision back in 1999 The need to Prepare Women! Then, in 2017 God put into the spirit of the Woman of God this women of God WITNESS FIRST CONFERENCE, THE CALL FOR THE KINGDOM WOMEN AND NOW SHE IS ONCE AGAIN PREPARING WOMEN FOR WHAT'S TO COME!!! HALLELUJAH!!
